Pendleton G. Waldron, DDS, MS
Pendleton G. Waldron, DDS, MS is a graduate of Duke University,
earning an AB Degree in History. He received his DDS Degree and
Master of Science in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of
North Carolina School of Dentistry. During his Pediatric Dental
residency, Dr. Waldron received a fellowship which allowed him to
treat young patients with developmental and learning disorders.
Dr. Waldron is a past president of the Western Piedmont Dental Society
and the North Carolina Pediatric Dental Society. He is currently
on staff at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, NC.
Dr. Waldron's practice specializes in children's dental needs from
birth to age 18 with emphasis on preventative and restorative dentistry,
interceptive orthodontics, dental health of children with special
needs and community dental education. Toddlers with advanced dental
disease and children with special needs may be treated by Dr. Waldron
under general anesthesia at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
Dr. Waldron's personal interests include jogging and physical training,
hiking, the shooting sports, rose gardening and collecting vintage
toy guns and holsters from the cowboys of the 40's and 50's. He
is an elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Newton, NC currently
serving on the Care Team Committee. Dr. Waldron and his wife, Robin,
live in Newton and have two children, one step granddaughter, and a grandson.
Dr. Waldron's GROWING SMILES PRACTICE is supported by an administration and clinical staff of seven, highly skilled and compassionate ladies.
Robin N - Business Manager
Robin has been Dr. Waldron's business manager for 16 years. Along
with her usual office management responsibilities, she provides
friendly & efficient information for patients planning their children's dental
treatment in the office and at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Robin
has a degree in Industrial Engineering. Robin has been a Youth Director for 14 years and a Childrens
Church Director for 2 years. She and her husband consider their
youth extended family and keep them active in various service projects
and annual summer mission trips.
Tammy R - Receptionist & Appointment Secretary
Tammy has served as Dr. Waldron's receptionist and appointment secretary
for 15 years. Her previous banking experience has prepared her for
the challenges of her position. She enjoys every aspect of her job
from greeting patients and scheduling appointments to the personal
relationships that have developed with many of our patients, parents,
and grandparents. She is married and has two daughters who have
grown up as patients of Dr. Waldron. Tammy enjoys spending time
with her family and is involved in many areas of her church. Tammy's
oldest daughter and son-in-law have two children and her younger daughter is planning to marry in May of 2010.
Heather W - Dental Assistant II
Heather, a graduate of Western Piedmont Community College Dental
Assistant Program, has been employed by Dr. Waldron for 14 years.
She enjoys treating children and provides structure and comfort
for them during treatment. Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending
time with her husband and 4 year old daughter. She also enjoys going to church together as a family on Sundays.
Kimberly M - Certified Dental Assistant
Kim is a graduate of the Western Piedmont Community College Dental
Assistant Program as well as certified through the DANB. She has
been employed by Dr. Waldron for 10-1/2 years. She especially likes helping
children overcome their dental fears. The calming reassurance of
her voice is comforting to her anxious patients. Kim, her husband
and 14 year old son enjoy time at the lake, playing with their two
dogs and attending her son's soccer games. She enjoys the outdoors
and hiking/camping with friends and family. She is thankful for
her family-like work place environment.
Kristy M - Dental Assistant II
Kristy, a graduate of Western Piedmont Community College Dental
Program, has been employed by Dr. Waldron since June 2008. She completed
several internships through Dr. Walron's office while inschool.
Kristy enjoys reassuring patients, that everything will be just
fine during their dental treatment. She enjoys spending time with
her husband and 4 year old son. She also loves going to the lake,
fishing, and horseback riding in her spare time.
Panda K - Dental Assistant II
Panda, a graduate of Western Piedmont Community College Dental Program, has been employed by Dr. Waldron for almonst 1 year. She enjoys working with children and helping them feel calm while in the office. She enjoys spending time with her soon to be husband and their 4 year old daughter. She loves taking her daughter to ballet and gymnastics as well as hiking and camping with friends and family.
Brittany R - Dental Assistant
KBrittany has recently completed Dental Assistant Training School in Charlotte, NC. She worked for Dr. Waldron while in High School and decided that Dental Assisting was something she would like to do. She enjoys working with children and is accredited in Childcare. Outside of work, Brittany enjoys spending time with family and plans to marry in May, 2010. She is also very active in her church where she works with children in thir Awana program.
